Discovery Museum field trips

“With the state putting a lot of pressure on raising language arts and math scores, teachers sometimes find it difficult to fit in all the science standards for their grade levels. The Discovery Museum is a valuable asset for teachers, providing experiential learning opportunities.”
- Alan Ward, Principal, Rio Dell School District

Explore the museum with your school or youth group.

We offer 3 different field trip program options:

1) Self-Guided Visit
Explore the museum at your own pace or use our fill-in-the-blank page to encourage your students to interact with museum exhibits.

2) Discovery Boxes
Discovery Boxes include lesson plans, visual aids, and activities (including supplies) that all support California Content Standards. Check them out for classroom use, or use them on your field trip to the museum. Choose from “Explore the World of Plant Survival,” “Discover Local Weather:  Become a Guide to the Sky” or “The Solar System: It’s Our Place in Space.”

3) Custom Program
Collaborate with museum program specialists to create a program that supports academic standards while providing a fun, memorable experience for your students! We can create customized programs for any topic, from art to zoology! Please note that we need at least two weeks notice to create a custom program.

Pricing:
Field trips start at $35, which covers admission for 10 people (adults and children).  Admission is $2.75 for each adult or child beyond the first 10. Add a $10 materials cost for Discovery Box and custom programs. Call 443-9694 to reserve a day and time.
